hard yak

hard YAK is a stylish new cafĂ©/bar that inserts some European glamour into the Bourke Street end of Hardware Lane. It is also a memorial to our beloved family pet. The proprietors’ background led to the elegant interpretation of the blue, yellow and red stripes of the Rumanian flag. The colour scheme is warm and rich; deep reds, antique gold and royal blue.

A variety of spaces provide all with a comfortable place to settle. From singles to small groups, there are dim corners to hide in or stage to parade from.

Lavish colours and a palette of sensuous materials create a regal setting for a quick coffee and a snack or a relaxed drink to unwind after work. Leather upholstery, solid timber and stone benches ensure hard YAK will age with grace.
